As a lawyer who has greatly contributed to his field, Mr. Carlson is the estate planning attorney with Carlson Law Office, LLC, Longmont, CO. He also appears as a lecturer on estate planning law in the Longmont and Boulder County areas. He occasionally serves as an adult Sunday School teacher for LifeBridge Christian Church in Longmont.

In 1968, Mr. Carlson obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree “With Distinction” from the University of Kansas. After graduating, he began his career as a teacher at Oak Park High School in North Kansas City, MO. In 1969, he was a teacher at Fort Collins High School, and he attended law school at the University of Colorado receiving a Juris Doctor in 1973.

Mr. Carlson was certified to practice law by the state of Colorado in 1973. With a JD, he became a Deputy District Attorney for the City of Denver from 1973 to 1975. In 1975, Mr. Carlson was an associate of Moore & Carlson, Fort Collins. He became an associate of Atler, Zall & Haligman in 1976. Mr. Carlson was a partner at Grant, McCarren & Bernard between 1978 and 1984. In 1985, he served as an owner of Hopp, Carlson & Beckmann.

As a distinguished lawyer, Mr. Carlson has been acknowledged as an “AV Preeminent” attorney based on peer reviews (Martindale-Hubbell) since 2012. The son of Maurice R. and Edna A. Carlson, Mr. Carlson was born on January 21, 1946 in Pensacola, Florida. On March 21, 1970, Mr. Carlson married Donna K. Reese. Together, the couple has raised two children: Matthew and Katherine. They have been blessed with seven grandchildren.
